Weapons... what do you want to see?
What weapons would you like to see? Realistically... don't put down the MK19 (automatic grenade launcher) because I wanna see one of you carry and fire it in real life!!!!

The Lee Enfield is a WWII gun thats used as a sniper rifle by the insurgents in INS. Other than that i wouldnt want a bolt action when my enemy has a m4/m16 possibly scoped. Aside from the M1 the other countries did not make substantial amounts of semi-auto.
The germans didnt make a decent one till 1943 with a box mag. The previous G41 had to be loaded with 2 5 round stripper clips. Not fun taking a long reload in a modern combat zone.
The SVT 40 was suppose to replace the Mosin Nagant but politics got in the way and that never happened. Also the weapon itself was too complicated for most Russian troops. There are recorded instances of mags falling out in combat. Its not a pre-ak47, this gun required tlc and a base knowledge of gun smithing.
As for the M1, I doubt there are many of them floating around the hands of jihadists. The SKS is more probable like the rifleman in INS. Its a post WWII semi auto rifle in the 7.62 x 39mm calibre like the ak47 and its Russian. Russians did a lot of arms trade to the Middle East. So chances are your jihadists will be using a soviet era rifle.
A better question is which armies and combatants will be included. I for one would like to see the Israelis vs Palestinians. Now the palestinians will probably be equipped like the insurgents in INS. For Israelis i would use a m4/tavor for sergreants. A galil/m16 for rifleman.

I love the idea of the Israelis vs Palestinians... it's a modern conflict that is happening right now! And I don't think (I KNOW) there isn't a single game out for it. Perhaps one of our first maps could be the gaza strip?????

Militant: fnfal, russian scoped aks-74u

RPG: RPG, uzi sidearm (reduced back to 2.0e speed or slightly faster but not 2.1 speed, its too fast)

This is my basic class sheet. Give people a choice of 2 guns if class allows. INS has shown that people will skin your stuff with scopes so why not add it to game and keep it balanced. Baby ak and m16 both get scopes now. To compensate the m4 scope the m16 is burst not full auto. Uzi is to help RPG in close quarter combat and to compensate for his slow mobility. To switch things up I would like to showcase the US army not the marines.

but i think best that we make a iron sight/ scoped vision that the people that join the server that they can choose wich one they wanne take iron sight or scoped...

We cant have every gun have the option of being scoped as the scoped guns are easier to shoot with. Plus i dont think Insurgents have that many scopes lieing around to make it plausible.

Most of the guns in COD 4 and BF2, but with upgrades and unlockable silencers etc.

Yes I like many of the weapons in COD4 & BF2... I am thinking of adding the MX-8 prototype which is due to replace the M16A2 and is currently being used by select units in the Army/Marines.
Silencers are hard to implement on a source mod, as with a silencer attached you won't hear you gun (will sound like it has a silencer), but to everyone else it sounds like a regular gun shot. We can look into a work around, but at this time it's not plausible.

Mx-8 is suppose to replace the m4 from what i read since m16 is already not ideal for urban combat, though other guns like the barret m468 and Bushmaster Masada (made by magpul then sold to bushmaster) are still in the race so I wouldnt say its definate yet. Also silencers are for special forces and not for average soldiers, after 2 clips that silencer will be useless, it will expand form all the heat and not to mention the frequent immediate use. Silencers work best to take as little amount of shots as possible which is impossible for regular infantry men as they arent trained as well nor do they move in small units like the SF. I dont want to make a game in which it plays real but all the guns are tricked out way beyond military regulations ie an ak with a round clip. BF2 and CoD 4 are big no nos.
-P90 (thats the 50 round gun) is used by tank crews incase their tank is disabled. Aside from that nobody else uses them.
-mp5 is a special forces gun
-Scar series as well are special forces
The list goes on. You wont get a mature audience playing your game if you deviate from the actual thing. If you want tricked out guns being used that do not belong in the respective army be prepared to be flamed by the military community. It should be a infantry simulator not a slowed down CS.

I want to keep the game/mod realistic as well, and i'm not sure what other weapons are in the race to replace the m4/m16 but I know that the MX-8 is the most advertised and tested in the Army as of right now.
I'm not saying to use unrealistic weapons, but we don't need to be using the same weapons that are featured in INS. Maybe add the AT4 to the Army side, as this is equal to the RPG. Then add mortors maybe to the INS side to compensate for the M203 grenade launcher....
I'm just meaning things along those lines...
